I know about moving too fast when I see/hear it. The singer here could very well be committing to a person they barely know! And believe me, I've been there, done that, in the process of it. For all we know, this person that they will "do anything for" might not even know that they exist. But that could very well be on the borderline or even on the topic of obsession, and it could be a pretty stupid obsession. "Generator" refers to looking after the person they love, taking that person under their wing, supporting them, always being there for them, doing anything for them. This is where it makes me wonder if this song is a secret rock-turned-pop tune, because, like most pop songs that have tarnished our current pithole generation of music, although this song is definitely NOT current, songs like this always talk about the person being loved in terms of "how beautiful they are," "I'd do anything for him/her," and then probably something having to do with eyes or whatever. Bruising egos, I believe, has to do with calling someone out on the way they act.) "I'm the Generator / Firing whenever you quit / Yeah, whatever it is," (aka: the guy will just about anything for the girl, ANYTHING. These lines connect with one person changing, or in the process of reforming to a better person or re-becoming the good person they once were, while the person they like/love still remains the same ego-ballistic human. That make a person seem like they have a "big ego," so to speak. Lines that stick out to me include "Lately I'm getting better / Wish I could stay sick with you / But there's too many egos left to bruise," (aka: these lines use sarcastic metaphorical play it sounds like they're talking about a sickness or disease of some sort, and in a way they are. The subject matter is dancing on the fine line between love and just complete obsession. Of course, any idiot can just take lyrics from any song at all and make it sound like intercourse, but then again that's just their dirty mind doing the talking. If I'm not mistaken, this song is clearly about love.
